How to kill Mac OS-X login session via terminal

Often times some of our customer call us stating that they lost their screen sharing session and cannot reconnect.

This usually means that the user session hung, but it is not impacting the systems operability.

To restore the session:

ssh to the system

type

ps -Ajc | grep loginwindow

Take note of the PID and type

sudo kill

Screen sharing should now be operational.

Thank you

  2. One thing i like about macosx is the ability to type commands similar to unix. Almost all unix commands work on macosx. If google chrome is hogging your mac's memory simply type pkill Google Chrome and chrome goes aways. Simply superb!

  3. Really nice post. Unix is a multiuser and multi tasking operating system at the same time. Unix Training in Chennai offering real time Unix course at reasonable cost.
